Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Romelu Lukaku is reportedly on the verge of sealing a summer switch to Inter Milan after agreeing a deal with the Italian side.

But Marcus Rashford was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's preferred central striker, and Lukaku fuelled speculation of a move to Inter by saying it is "a dream" to play in Serie A "sooner or later".

Nerazzurri boss Antonio Conte has been a keen admirer of Lukaku over the years and the Belgian recently heaped praise on the manager by calling him as the best head coach in the world.

After scoring for Belgium against Scotland in a Euro qualifier, Lukaku revealed that he will speak to United about a potential transfer away from Old Trafford.

The Manchester United striker then netted his 48th global goal as he followed-up a shot by De Bruyne that was parried into his path by Scotland goalkeeper David Marshall in the 57th minute.

This has, somehow, led to Sky Sports suggesting the Liverpool left-back "could miss start of 2019/20 Premier League season". With the transfer of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, I think the Italian League is now coming back.

Manchester United are set for a big summer, with the club expecting several incoming and outgoings.

His pursuit for first-team football is now said to have forced him out of Old Trafford, with Italian media outlet, Gazzette dello Sport, reporting the Belgian has already held talks with Inter and agreed to join them this summer.

"As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still can not communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract".

Lukaku scored 27 goals across all competition in his debut season at United after joining from Everton in 2017.
