Davis posted a photo of the cake to Facebook where it went viral. The bakery, however, apparently heard "marijuana".
Kensli Taylor Davis thought she was getting a "Moana" cake for her birthday. It also had a cannabis leaf and green "My Little Pony" horse that looks stoned.
She told the local news station that she admired the artistic icing job, and thinks it was an honest mistake since her family has ordered cakes there for years.
"That ice-cream cake was still good though", she wrote.
"Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana", Ms Davis wrote.
